BIPOC Voices Summit

Share Your Voice!

BIPOC Voices is a program, created by POCIS Seattle, that brings together educators of color (teachers, school counselors, and administrators) working in our member schools. In BIPOC Voices, educators share ideas, offer support and encouragement, and discuss ways for our respective schools to implement the ideas and approaches shared by guest speakers and other leaders in DEI-related work.

In fall and spring, POCIS Seattle hosts a BIPOC Voices Summit. See below for more information.

Member schools can find event resources at the Resources for Educators page. Please ask your POCIS representative for the password.

POCIS Seattle cordially invites faculty, administrators, and staff members of color in member schools to the

*POCIS is excited to extend this valuable BIPOC learning space to non-member schools. We recognize how critical it is for educators of color to come together in co-liberation and community. We also recognize how important it is to fairly pay and support our adult educators in these spaces. When we work from a mutual aid model, sharing our resources, we can cover fair wages and create spaces designed for us and by us. We have thoughtfully put together a sliding scale to share costs with non-member schools. Thanks for your support however you’re able.

$10 – This is for individuals who are covering the cost or schools who may be at the end of their yearly budget. This covers the cost of the meal.

$100 -This is for schools that are covering the cost. This will cover continued work for our 2024-2025 BIPOC Voices conferences, which includes operations costs, trainer/facilitator fees, and culturally responsive meals. If schools can pay this fee, it will allow BIPOC Voices to reduce costs in the future and continue to invite non-member schools to break bread and be in the community together.
