Seattle Country Day School (SCDS) is an independent school that serves more than 400 gifted students, grades K–8, on a 2.4-acre campus on the north slope of Queen Anne Hill in Seattle, Washington. Qualifications for the Position
A bachelor’s degree is required and classroom experience as an associate or lead teacher are preferred. Academic or professional experience in gifted education, creative problem-solving, and inquiry-based education preferred.

The associate teacher will be assigned to a lead teacher in the Lower School Division, and be a member of the Lower School Division. The associate teacher will work with small groups and lead whole-class instruction using an inquiry-based curriculum that inspires intellectual curiosity and a sense of wonder in students. In addition to establishing positive relationships with students and parents, the associate teacher will collaborate with the lead teacher and progress toward whole class teaching responsibilities. The associate teacher may also provide lunch and recess supervision, and other duties as needed and assigned.

This position is full-time. SCDS offers a very competitive salary and benefits package. Salary range is $55,000-$105,000 depending qualifications. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance and long-term disability, excellent retirement plan, and section 125 plan.
